Background

I live in DC with my roommate who is also my co-worker. He is a GREAT guy and always means well, but some of the things he does is pure comedy. Have you ever heard of "there are no stupid questions"? Throw that thought out the window, he asks some pretty stupid questions. Well, I take that back, it isn't so much that they are stupid it is more that he doesn't think before he asks. There are many days where I'll tell him something and not 5 minutes later he is asking a question that I just answered.

You will learn very quickly John is not your typical all-American male. Sure he's straight (not that it matters) but video games, comic books, and reading are more his speed rather than sports, cars, and "babes." Now that I've painted a picture of who he is for you let me tell you about this afternoon when he got home from the gym...

John's xbox is broken so he's been "forced" to watch tv. We have DirectTv and he's not that familiar with the stations. He walks into his room and in a panicked voice yells down to me "Do we need to pay our DirectTv bill?"
Me - "No, why it isn't working? Wait, I'm watching tv."

Him - "No, have we paid it?"

Me - "What is it saying?"

Him - "Channel not purchased."

Me - "What channel is it on?"

Him - "721" (That is MLB network by the way)

Me - "umm change channels"

Him - "Ok" pause... "Wait, why don't we have the Oxygen Channel anymore?"

Me - "Cause we don't pay for it"

Him - "But, but, I was watching it this weekend."

That is a typical conversation with him...he didn't realize DirectTv does promos for channels, and thats cool...the really funny part is that my 28 year old straight male roommate spent the weekend watching Oxygen channel.
